Cookie recipe exchange weekend!

Now its your turn! I have given you two fairly cheap, frugal and easy cookies to make and each one makes quite a few cookies. I would love to hear from you on your favorite easy and inexpensive cookie to make!

Snickerdoodles!

This is my daughter's favorite cookie! Its easy to make and also it makes tons of cookies, for this reason its a good cookie for a church or school bake sale.

Snickerdoodles

1cup soft shortening not margarine
1 1/2 sugar
2 3/4 sifted flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs slightly beaten


Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, gradually add dry ingredients, mixing well. Wrap dough in wax paper. Chill 2 hours. Shape into balls the size of walnuts. Roll in sugar and cinnamon mixture. Place on ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
Bake in hot oven 400 8-10 mins. 5 dozen! Enjoy!

'Cookie recipe weekend!! Granny's Peanut Butter Cookies

I love peanut butter cookies. Especially home made. This is a really good recipe and its easy! In no time you will be eating some warm delicious home made cookies!

Granny's Peanut butter Cookies

1 cup Crisco
2/3 cup peanut butter
3/4 brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 tsp vanilla

Place Crisco and peanut butter in large mixing bowl. Cream well, adding white and brown sugars. Add eggs. Mix baking soda with flour and add slowly to creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Dough will be thick.

Pinch off dough by tablespoon and roll to form a ball. Dip in granulated sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork,forming a criss cross markings, Bake 350 for 12 to 15 minutes. Enjoy with a cold glass of milk!
