Sunday Morning time for Christmas Decorations!

Its Sunday morning, its cold and crisp outside! I really cannot believe that Christmas is right around the corner.
My husband is out cutting firewood and Lauren is at work. My surprise for them is when they get home to have all the Christmas decorations up! Maybe make some Christmas cookies and put on a pot of Taco Soup. Sounds like a busy day! But here are a few Christmas recipes you may want to try! Have a good Sunday and where ever you are stay warm and spread the spirit of Christmas to everyone you see today! Merry Christmas!

Christmas Crunch

2 blocks almond bark
4 cups rice krispies
1 large jar peanuts
1 cup peanut butter
1 bag M&M's
3 cup mini marshmallow

Melt chocolate on stove. Turn off heat, but leave pot on the stove. Add ingredients, one at a time, and stir. Add marshmallows last. Drop spoonfuls onto wax paper and let cool.
This is a great recipe to give the kids to do and the finished product is pretty and delicious and your kids will feel like young chiefs! Plus you now have one less Christmas sweet to cook. (Make sure you have an older kid taking over the cooking part or take the time to cook with them).

Here is a soup to make that is quick and easy, especially if your busy digging out Christmas decorations from a cold garage and you don't really want to cook, but for some reason your family wants to eat! This recipe will save you from hearing "Mom I am hungry when are we eating?

Taco Soup

1 lb ground hamburger
1 large onion
3 16 oz cans Mexican style chili beans (do not drain)
1 16 oz can whole kernel corn (do not drain)
1 16 oz can tomatoes (d0 not drain)
1 15 oz can tomatoes sauce (do not drain)
1 1/2 cup water
1 4 1/2 oz green chilies
1 pkg taco seasoning
1 pkg hidden valley ranch dry salad seasoning mix

Cook beef and onion until .beef is browned, drain. Mix beef and onion with all other ingredients in a large pot. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. This will make about 3 1/2 quarts.
Now go and put up the rest of your Christmas decorations you now have dinner!

By now you may have your Christmas decorations up. You have dinner and you have a great sweet treat to eat, so go sit and gather your family around and enjoy dinner and the lights of the Christmas tree! What a perfect Sunday afternoon!
