CHEESE STICKS FROM CLABBER GIRL!

You can include as much cayenne spice as you'd like for these cheese straws. You will need a food processor and a cookie press to make this unique appetizer or snack. You can also mix different finely grated cheeses, such as pepperjack and monterey or gouda and mozzarella.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. butter softened
  • 1 c. sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/2 tsp. Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne to taste

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper; set aside.

Combine all ingredients using a pastry blender. Pulse until all are combined. Prepare the cookie press by selecting the shape of your choice. Place dough into cookie press.
Squeezing dough from cookie press, form 4-inch strips of dough on parchment paper that has been placed on cookie sheet.

Place sheet into 425 degree F. oven and bake for approximately 10 minutes. When straws are removed from oven, carefully peel parchment paper off of sheet and place onto cooling rack. When cool, peel straws from paper if they don't slide off. They should come off very easily.
